Her creole origins predisposed her to such an intelligence, to such encounters and hybridizations, first with the Paris scene, then with the New York scene – also, to be noticed, as well as an activist alongside musician collectives, as a scholar. Audaciously on all fronts. Moreover, far to be content with her origins to be binding roots forcing a fake ‘authenticity’, but not abandonning them either for the artifical paradises of ‘world’ or ‘pop’ music, she makes a rare aroma bouquet out of them, calling for departure, travel, calling to new adventures.
