Time is Due
an operatic installation in 2 acts
I dreamed an electro-acoustic piece involving synthesizers and custom-made percussion instruments, played by an ensemble of vocalists/multi-instrumentalists—mediators between ancient, future and the multiple relational archetypes one meets while seeking the essence of love. This is an operatic installation to the extent that emotional transformation and set design are the sails with which we explore humanity's journey towards connection, with an unusual instrumentation superimposing choral, percussion and keyboard layers. This piece explores the stakes of Relation as pivots towards self discovery and self love. Initial workshop featured Anaïs Maviel, Rema Hasumi, Melvis Santa, Alexis Marcelo, Isis Giraldo aka Chiquita Magic & Shahzad Ismaily, all on vox, percussion & synthesizers. Lilleth Glimcher direction & set design, Jonathan Malm acoustic instruments design. This piece is yet to be premiere in its fully staged version.
